PLAI National Congress closes today at SMX

The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) National Congress, which opened at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod earlier this week, comes to a close today, November 24.

The event, which gathered over 1,000 delegates, included the presence of the 11-member delegation from the Thai Library Association.

Keynote speakers for the event included University of the Philippines-Diliman Deputy University Librarian Elvira B. Lapuz, who discussed the inclusion of libraries in the national development plan and the “United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development;” along with a panel discussion including speakers from the World Bank, World Health Organization-Western Pacific Region, and the Asian Development Bank.

Meanwhile, the 83rd Book Week celebration took place, which featured an exhibit in Function Hall 1./WDJ

Librarian I Remia Quebrar of the Bacolod City Public Library (BCPL), who oversees the BCPL basic computer literacy training, took part in the PLAI National Congress, which comes to a close today, November 24, at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod.
