Children’s Month activities to continue through December in Iloilo City

Despite National Children’s Month being observed throughout the month of November, the Iloilo City Council for the Protection of Children (ICCPC) recently announced they would be conducting activities through December.

For the rest of November, the ICCPC Zumba and “Laro ng Lahi” take place on Friday, November 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Robinsons Place Iloilo activity center, while the awarding of “Huwaran Nga Anak 2017” is scheduled for next week, November 29.

On December 8, Children’s Congress 2017 will be held, with the culmination event of the official observance taking place on December 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Robinsons Place Iloilo.

Even with the city observance ended, the ICCPC will hold an orientation on barangay protocol regarding the management of cases surrounding at-risk youth and children in conflict with the

law at the Iloilo Grand Hotel from December 13 to 15; along with the second dialogue on “The Pillars of Juvenile Justice System” taking place at the same venue on December 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In addition, the Barangay Violence Against Women and Children Desk Officer’s Summit is scheduled for December 20; an orientation on policies surrounding cyber safety for children, child protection laws, and children’s rights and responsibilities will take place from December 21 to 22; and an orientation workshop on national early learning curriculum and new standards for preschool students is set to run from December 26 through December 29.
