The Talisay City government affirmed the city’s Scholarship sa Masa program for 127 recipients during an orientation program recently held at the Dela Rama Hall of the Talisay City Hall, where a contract of agreement was signed.
Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III addressed the scholars, saying education is “an investment” and calling the scholarship “a priority and a commitment.”
The program, which provides a P3,000 subsidy to each eligible student, is open to all college students from Talisay City enrolled at the Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUP-V) or any of the campuses of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College (CHMSC).
This year, the mayor is looking to procure a school bus for scholarship recipients.
Also in attendance were CHMSC Chief Administrative Officer Rosalinda Tuvilla, TUP-V officer-in-charge and Scholarship Officer Donalyn Lastima, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, among others./WDJ
