The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) is encouraging parents to instill discipline among their children as a matter of improving local communities.

“We should enforce positive discipline,” said Social Welfare Aide Narciso Abad III during a recent radio interview. “Five to 10 years from now, if these children are not guided, what will happen to our communities?”

He described the family as the “basic unit of the society” and, noted, parents should not neglect their duties of raising their children to become responsible adults.

Abad also highlighted the importance of things like family dinners, social relationships, and communications skills, which have been hampered with the advancement of technology./WDJ
