STI-West Negros University defended their secondary boys’ basketball title after recently defeating Bacolod Tay Tung High School, 104-90, in the 2017 NOPSSCEA meet.

STI-West Negros University (STI-WNU) defended their secondary boys’ basketball title after recently defeating Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS), 104-90, in the 2017 Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) meet.

STI-WNU got off to an early start, leading 27-21 in the opening quarter, with 10 points contributed by John Paul Malayas.

At halftime, the eventual champions remained in front, ahead 50-41.

In the third period, BTTHS was held to 13 points, as STI-WNU took a 75-54 lead going into the final quarter.

Aldave Dale Canoy led the victory with a massive 28 points, followed by Austine Laureño and Philip John Majometaño each scoring 14, Dave Agbas – 13, and Malayas – 12./JSG, WDJ
