Ceres-Negros FC drew 1-1 with Ilocos United FC during their Philippines Football League (PFL) match over the weekend at the Quirino Stadium in Bantay, Ilocos Sur.
“The intention was to finish the game in the first half,” said Ceres coach Risto Vidaković. “We tried to score a goal in the second half, but we also missed our chances.”
Ilocos defender Adam Mitter struck first in the 36th minute, with Ceres midfielder Arnie Pasinabo, Jr. responding with an equalizer in the 77th minute.
The two clubs are scheduled for another meeting at the Quirino Stadium tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
“The players need to train more because this is very dangerous,” Vidaković added.
The draw keeps Ceres in second place on the PFL table, now one point behind league leaders FC Meralco Manila./JSG, WDJ
