The Recoletos Educational Apostolate in the Philippines (REAP) lecture-workshop on Augustinian values and pedagogical principles, which opened earlier this week at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) gymnasium, ends today, November 18.
Highlighting the final day are talks conducted by Rev. Fr. Emilio Edgardo Quilatan; he will begin with a discussion on “Iconography of the book and Pierced Heart: St. Augustine as Teacher,” followed by a lecture on the history and theology of the order of Augustinian Recollects (OAR).
The event will close with a Eucharistic celebration led by Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio.
The workshop opened on Thursday with a mass led by Rev. Fr. Julius M. Marcos, followed by a welcome address from Fr. Enrico Peter Silab.
Potencio then offered a talk on the life of St. Augustine.
Yesterday, topics of discussion included the pedagogical lines of St. Augustine, Augustinian values of interiority, the Augustinian values of truth, Augustinian values of freedom, St. Augustine on friendship, St. Augustine about community, and the Augustinian values of justice and solidarity./WDJ
