The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recently released an order relieving and replacing the current commander of Police Station 8 (PS8).
Documents released by BCPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, noted PS8 commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., was relieved from his post as station commander, effective November 15, last Wednesday.
His removal was said to be linked to recent issues involving the police station.
There was the case involving 17-year-old Archie Filonco Odsigue, who was shot dead by Police Officer 2 (PO2) Ryan Sagon during a raid in Barangay Tangub; and the situation with PO1 Kriscel Mae Doctora, who was accused of pointing her service firearm at a civilian during an argument.
Benoman was replaced by Police Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag, who previously led PS3 and the Traffic Management Unit (TMU).
Vargas added, Benoman was reassigned to the BCPO administrative office pending new assignment.
Benoman served as PS8 commander for one year and three months./DGB, WDJ
