Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) recently defeated the University of St. La Salle (USLS) in overtime, 76-65, to capture the 2017 Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) elementary division basketball title at the STI-West Negros University gym.

BTTHS took an early 16-9 lead in the first quarter, which they maintained at the end of the following period, going into the half with a 27-19 advantage.

However, in the third, USLS took a 48-38 lead before heading into the final quarter.

After reaching a 61-61 deadlock, contributions from Marvin delos Santos helped push BTTHS to victory.

The win qualifies the victors for the upcoming Palarong Panlalawigan./JSG, WDJ
