According to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), the city’s crime rate continues to decline, reporting a drop of 55 percent in the first week of November.
Between November 3 to 9, the office recorded a total 34 criminal incidents, a reduction from the 76 reported the same time last year.
“Our policemen have 12-hour duty [shifts] now,” explained ICPO administration, operation and intelligence division deputy, Police Superintendent Rogen Morales. “[ICPO] deploys our policemen [to] different areas for longer hours in order to prevent the occurrence of crimes.”
Last week, the ICPO reported a drop of just over 60 percent, based on data from October 27 through November 2./PLL, WDJ
