A resolution passed by the Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) during their regular session this week called for the observance of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week, which began on Sunday, November 13, and ends tomorrow.

The resolution, penned by City Councilor Em Ang, cited Presidential Proclamation No. 124, put forward by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, which took note of “[a] need to increase awareness and understanding of the adverse effects of drug abuse not only on the health of our people but also on our social, economic and even the political development of our country.”

The city policy echoed the sentiment, adding, “The present administration is relentless in eradicating the use, abuse, and trade of illegal drugs.”/PLL, WDJ
