Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) recently defeated the St. John’s Institute, 25-11 and 25-8, in the finals of the girls’ volleyball event of the 2017 Batang Pinoy-Visayas at the Foundation University court in Dumaguete City.
“This [is] history in the sports program of our school,” said BTTHS Vice President for Sports Jose Montalbo. “This will signify [we] are on the right track.”
The team next heads to Santa Rosa, Laguna, where they will compete in the 2017 Rebisco Volleyball Tournament, which begins on Monday, November 20.
“Most of our players have skills and experience to compete, but to play in the big league is an entirely different level,” Montalbo noted.
Meanwhile, BTTHS athletes also won gold in the 2,000m walkathon and the 100m hurdles./JSG, WDJ
