During yesterday’s opening ceremonies for the Association of Negros Occidental Private Schools and School Administrators, Inc. (ANOPSSAI) meet at the Murcia Open Bible Christian Academy, Inc., Negros Occidental Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel Verdeflor spoke on the province providing more support and incentives for local athletes.

“[Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr.] always wanted to ensure that government support reaches our deserving athletes,” he declared.

The provincial official added, following the nullification of the Negros Island Region and the subsequent reestablishment of the Palarong Panlalawigan, they are able to provide more support for athletes.

Meanwhile, Department of Education (DepEd) Assistant Schools Division Superintendent for Negros Occidental Gladys Amylines Sales offered her appreciation for those involved in the event.

“I would like to commend our coaches, trainers, and parents for your sacrifices in developing these athletes,” she said. “Thank you for the time and [effort].”
