Budget Officer tasked with finding a source for funding

By Paulo Loreto Lim
According to Negros Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. has requested Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival to find a source of funding for the P2 million the provincial government pledged towards the rehabilitation of Marawi City, which recently experienced a prolonged conflict between government forces and the Islamic State-backed Maute terror group.
In addition, the governor has also put the matter before the Negros Occidental Provincial Board, requesting approval for the P2 million allocation.
Meanwhile, the “Negros Cares” program, launched back in October with funds intended for the rebuilding of Marawi City, is still accepting donations, Gelvolea noted./PLL, WDJ
