Two arrested in Tangub on gun possession

Two men were arrested by police early Tuesday morning when a search of their belongings along Araneta Street, Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City yielded several firearms.
Police identified the suspects as 22-year-old Isaiah Mendoza, a resident of Phase 4, Barangay Handumanan in the said city; and 22-year-old Ronel Baldonado, a resident of Bangga Totong, Barangay Felisa also in the said city.
Police Station 8 (PS8) commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., said they were conducting a routine patrol along Araneta street when they observed Mendoza and Baldonado acting suspicious.
When the cops approached, the suspects ran, prompting police to give chase, resulting in their arrest.
A search of their belongings yielded two improvised 9mm pin guns, four 9mm bullets, and one backpack containing several clothing items and a disinfectant.
The suspects face charges for illegal possession of firearms and are presently detained at PS8./DGB, WDJ
