The mother-in-law of one of the construction workers killed in the recent collapse of a portion of the under construction Capitol Central Mall criticized the way authorities handled the situation.
In a radio interview yesterday morning, Thelma Mahinay said, following the collapse, when she and her family visited, authorities rushed them through the site.
Mahinay pointed out she was trying to find out what happened to her son-in-law, Heracleo Abraham.
She later learned he was admitted to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), but he had already been declared dead.
The mother-in-law also noted, Abraham was supposed to work in New Zealand, as he earlier acquired a visa to work overseas as a steelman.
Last week, Abraham and another construction worker, identified as Doddy Boy Mallorca, were killed after the scaffolding and beams collapsed.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has since issued a work stoppage order on the collapsed area as they conduct an investigation./DGB, WDJ
