Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III recently named former City Tourism and Development Office (CTDO) head Benito Jimena as tourism liaison officer for the City Mayor’s Office.

“He is there as a sort of volunteer,” the mayor explained. “He will be my consultant and I will include him [on] a task force that will oversee all our festivals.”

“We need to give our all-out support to our tourism industry,” he added. “If there is a department that needs our support, it is the CTDO.”

Jimena will serve as the focal person between the mayor and the CTDO, along with ensuring all city events are well-prepared./WDJ
