Vice Mayor: The mayor is God-sent

During a speech, Hinoba-an Mayor Ernesto A. Estrao thanked God for “wisdom and strength” after the municipality earned its first Seal of Good Local Governance award.

Hinoba-an recently held a Thanksgiving celebration after earning a Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Seal of Good Local Governance award for 2017, a first for the municipality.
Mayor Ernesto A. Estrao delivered a speech to those gathered, thanking God for “wisdom and strength” and crediting his 10-point agenda.
“This 10-point agenda was based on the Word of God,” he explained.
Vice Mayor Jefre Encoy also delivered a speech, where he characterized the mayor as “God-sent.”
According to Hinoba-an Agriculturist II Alvin Dela Fuente, local organizations were also provided with equipment from various government agencies. He noted, 11 fiberglass boats were provided by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources; while the Department of Agriculture provided 10 marine engines, 11 hand tractor sets, 10 rice threshers, food carts, 300 sacks of rice seeds, and fertilizer.
Hinoba-an is one of eight Negros Occidental local government units recognized by the DILG. The other recipients include Bago City, Sagay City, San Carlos City, Silay City, Candoni, Don Salvador Benedicto, Pontevedra, and Valladolid./RS, WDJ
