The Victorias City-based Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Foundation, Inc. (NO DRFI) and the Negros Occidental Drug Rehabilitation Center (NODRC) conducted a community outreach program last week in Barangay XIX-A in Victorias City as part of Drug Abuse Consciousness Month, which is observed throughout November.

Dr. Ernesto Palanca, who heads both agencies, led the event, noting four of his staff attended a week-long training on implementing community outreach programs.

He added, with the NODRC being chosen by the United Nation Drug Control Program Colombo Plan, a grant was also awarded in order to implement programs such as the one conducted last week.

Meanwhile, Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca was also present at the event.

“The community outreach program is just getting started,” he said. “More barangays will be visited by the team [from] NODRC.”/WDJ
