The Department of the Interior and Local Government-Region VI (DILG-6) recently revealed Bago City, Sagay City, San Carlos City, and Silay City were recipients of the 2017 Seal of Good Local Governance.

In addition, Candoni, Don Salvador Benedicto, Hinoba-an, Pontevedra, and Valladolid were also recognized.

According to a release put out by DILG Provincial Director Ma. Joy Maredith R. Madayag, the seal “symbolizes integrity and good performance through continuing governance reform and sustained local development.”

The Seal of Good Local Governance is awarded to the best performing local government units (LGUs) after passing evaluations of certain areas, including financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, and peace and order.

LGUs must also pass one additional essential area, which could be business-friendliness and competitiveness; environmental protection; or tourism, arts and culture.

The award ceremony is scheduled for November 27 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City./PLL, WDJ
