Eight people were recently rescued after their boat sank off the coast of the Bulobadiang Islet, part of Carles, Iloilo.

According to Iloilo Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) chief, Lieutenant Commander Ramil Palabrica, their substation in Estancia, Iloilo received a distress call and immediately deployed PCG members to the islet.

Upon arrival, the boat was halfway underwater.

Ramil identified seven of the rescued individuals as high school students./WDJ
