The Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) will be conducting the Regional Educational Tour Summit (RETS) at the Days Hotel Iloilo today, November 9.
The summit seeks to recognize the importance of field trips and educational tours in providing a meaningful learning experience for students.
“Field trips and educational tours play an important part in teaching the students,” said DOT-6 Director Helen Catalbas. “It exposes them to the actual happenings outside the four walls of the classroom.”
“Field trips also let students experience and visit the different destinations in the region and [help] promote these destinations,” she added.
RETS also aims to strengthen and create a more harmonious relationship between and among concerned national government agencies, local government units, the academe, the transportation sector, travel and tour agencies, among others./WDJ
