A barangay kagawad was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region VII (PDEA-7) after conducting a buy-bust operation at Sitio San Jose, Barangay 2 in Bais City, Negros Oriental, last Monday.

Police identified the suspect as Barangay 2 Kagawad Dean Brian Ferraren Acas.

PDEA-7 operatives said they arrested Acas after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover agent.

A search of the suspect later yielded several more sachets of suspected shabu, worth at least P2,500.

Acas is facing illegal drugs charges and is presently detained at the Bais City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
