The Philippine men’s national football team, the Azkals, left for Nepal last night, where they are scheduled to take on their national team next week, November 14, at the ANFA Complex in Kathmandu.
“This team can surprise you,” said Azkals coach Thomas Dooley. “They are not so consistent in the game, but they have moments of brilliance.”
“We need to work hard and be 100 percent focused,” he added. “If we are not focused and make easy arrows, then we will have problems.”
The Philippines currently leads Group F, while Nepal sits at the bottom.
In their previous match, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium back in March, the Philippines won, 4-1.
Meanwhile, some members of Ceres-Negros FC were called up for national duty, including midfielders Joshua Dutosme, Iain Ramsay, and Kevin Ingreso; and defenders Carli de Murga and Junior Muñoz./JSG, WDJ
