Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III recently led the ribbon-cutting for the new Visitors Information Center in the city. A Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) project, the center cost around P1 million.

Department of Tourism-Region 6 (DOT-6) director, Atty. Helen J. Katalbas, who joined the mayor during the ribbon-cutting, noted, Talisay City is the only locality in Negros Occidental with such a facility.
She said the center will “provide visiting tourists easy access to the city’s tourists attractions, the best and affordable bed and dining accommodations, and all their other needs while paying a visit in the city.”
The facility also offers an opportunity for Talisaynon artists to be acknowledged.
Among those present for the event included Provincial Tourism Officer Cristine Mansinares; Talisay City Sangguniang Panlungsod Members Carl Lizares, Randy Ereñeta, Gab Villacin, Zenia Astorga, and William Malan; representatives of Talisay City’s tourism sector, among others.
Rev. Father Dexter Palagtiosa, meanwhile, led the blessing of the center./WDJ
