Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. voiced his support for the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) in their campaign against extrajudicial killings, during a press conference at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol yesterday morning
He said an end to extrajudicial killings is what everybody wants, including President Rodrigo Duterte.
“To him, there are no EJKs (extrajudicial killings),” the governor said.
CBCP president, Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, led a prayer rally at the EDSA Shrine monument last Sunday, calling for police officers and politicians to repent.
The day before, the CBCP held a forum on extrajudicial killings, alongside groups Tindig Pilipinas and Youth Resist, both of which have been critical of the Duterte administration./WDJ
