Governor signs memorandum for Japanese scholarship grants

A memorandum of agreement was recently signed between Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Kyushu Japanese Language School President Manabu Taniguchi to provide scholarship grants for local scholars to study in Japan.

Kris Jane Bandejas, Arnelie Mayo, and Ria Arlos, who were present for the signing at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol, will study at the Kyushu Japanese Language School in Japan for two years and provided with 28-hour a week jobs in order to support their living expenses.
Following the two years, the three will also be provided assistance towards admission to a university or employment with a company.
Also present at the signing were Shun Senokuchi of the Kyushu Japanese Language School; Negros Occidental Language and IT Center Administrator, Dr. Cristina Orbecido; and Executive Assistant Yoji Watanabe./WDJ
