Mayor, City Councilor attend mask conference in Laos

(From left) Andong City Council Chairman Kim Seong-jin, Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Andong City Mayor and IMACO President Kweon Young-sae, Kolao Group founder and CEO Oh Sei-young, Laos Department of Performing Arts Director-General Khamphuang Inthavongsy, Bhutan Home and Cultural Affairs Vice Minister Sonam Topgay, and National Base for International Cultural Exchange President Chen Shenglai during a reception dinner hosted by the Kolao Group.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and City Councilor Em Ang were in Vientiane, Laos to attend the 6th International Mask Arts and Culture Organization (IMACO) International Conference, which came to a close yesterday.

The organization has a total 63 member-countries, with the event featuring information regarding mask festivals from across the globe and providing a venue for individuals to exchange ideas and information.

Some of the activities at the event included a mask and art road performance, a world mask exhibition, a policy forum, a general assembly and academic symposium, among others.

Over 300 representatives from over 24 countries were present at the event./WDJ
