Around 40 meat vendors from across Iloilo City are expected to participate in a workshop on food additives, conducted by the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Office (LEIPO) at the Iloilo City Diamond Jubilee Hall on Monday, November 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“We invited those who are involved in selling processed meat like longanisa, chorizo, [and] embutido for this workshop,” said LEIPO head Ritchel Gavan. “We want the vendors to know why we put additives [and] the effects if we put too much.”
Participants are also expected to take part in product labelling and packaging, and food handling workshops, to be scheduled for later dates.
“Through these [workshops], we will teach participants the right label and package that will suit their product, thus, improve their income,” she added./WDJ
