Bacolod City Lone District Rep. Greg Gasataya said the Magsaysay-Araneta flyover will be open by the end of this month.
Gasataya told reporters yesterday he was informed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) the approaches to the flyover are all that remains to be constructed.
Based on their schedule, the flyover will be passable by November 30, 2017, Gasataya said.
He called the flyover “necessary infrastructure that presents a structural solution to traffic congestion,” which he believes “will lower road capacities.”
Gasataya also confirmed two more flyovers would be constructed next year, one in the east area of the city and one along Circumferential Road.
The Araneta-Magsaysay flyover cost P365 million, with the DPWH allotting around P32 million for civil works./DGB, WDJ
