Ahead of his fight against undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) world bantamweight titlist Luis Nery tonight in Tijuana, Mexico, reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia-Pacific bantamweight champion ‘King’ Arthur Villanueva of Bago City remarked on his opponent’s capabilities during a recent pre-fight press conference.
“He is dangerous and is a non-stop punching machine,” he said. “That’s the reason why I trained hard and [got] motivated.”
Villanueva most recently beat Richie Mepranum of Sarangani after the latter refused to continue their fight during “Pinoy Pride 42: Clash for Glory” at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino back in September./JSG, WDJ
