The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), and Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) reported no major incidents during this year’s All Soul’s Day and All Saints’ Day observances, which ended yesterday.

PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, said the entire region was generally peaceful.

“Despite heavy rain, it did not stop all units from diligently performing their respective tasks,” he said.

BCPO spokesperson, Police Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, noted, most families visited local cemeteries last Tuesday, October 31, in an effort to avoid the crowds.

However, Vargas pointed out 17 individuals sought medical attention while visiting Burgos Public Cemetery.

Another 17 were injured after a bus flipped over in Aklan; while a minor landslide occurred in Igbaras, Iloilo, where no injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, in preparation for the event, the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO)  posted traffic personnel near cemeteries throughout the city, while police assistance desks were also set up./DGB, WDJ
