Seven individuals were arrested following a Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Special Operations Group (SOG) and Police Station 4 (PS4) raid of an illegal cockfighting operation in Barangay Montevista, Bacolod City, Wednesday afternoon.

Police identified the suspects as Weldy Nabaja, 69; Eric Austria, 34; Jeorge Jemoto, 44; Thaddeus Rojo, 56; Antonio Domingo, 56; Lino Disamparado, 56; and Rammy Rallos, 58.

According to the BCPO, authorities received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding the illegal operation. When cops showed up, they asked if the suspects had a permit for the said cockfighting operation, wherein they failed to produce such documentation.

Police recovered several units of illegal gambling paraphernalia, two roosters, a speaker, and a microphone.

The seven suspects face illegal gambling charges and are presently detained at PS4./DGB, WDJ
