Following a bomb scare earlier this week at a port in Estancia, Iloilo, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) are urging the public to refrain from making bomb jokes.

A package was discovered on a passenger boat traveling between Iloilo and Masbate with the message “Do not open/ May bomba” written on the outside of the box. A crew member noticed the message and notified the boat captain, who got in contact with the PNP and PCG.

Upon inspection by the explosives ordnance division, the box was found to contain five mobile phones and their chargers.

The box was intended for a certain Boboy Nualda of Mandaon, Masbate./WDJ
