Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III recently distributed certificates of recognition to local medalists from the recent Dumau Philippine International Jiu-jitsu Open and the 3rd Asian Pencak Silat Championship.

“We aim to make Iloilo City as [the] sports capital of the Philippines,” he said.

Among those recognized included jiu-jitsu gold medalists Micah Danielle S. Tormon, Zharizh Vele Osimco, Kendrew Rhoel Uy, Sean Michael Latabag, Vincent Velle Osimco, Jose Ma. Vargas, and Emello Galotera.

Meanwhile, bronze medalists from the pencak silat included Trisha Marie Leda and Haunillio Ballista II./WDJ
