Two people were confirmed dead after their motorcycle crashed along the national highway in Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran in Negros Occidental.
Police identified the fatalities as 29-year-old Andie Jun Labares and 37-year-old Gerald Gelangala, both residents of Sitio Culo, Barangay Tagda in the said town.
Hinigaran municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Jake Barila, said the victims originated from Binalbagan on Friday night and lost control of their motorcycle, resulting in a crash along an irrigation canal, killing them both on the spot.
Barila said it is possible the two may have been drunk during the incident.
He added, the victims’ remains were only spotted by local residents Saturday morning when the sun was already up./DGB, WDJ
