A 58-year-old German national was found dead inside his rented home along Villa Celia Avenue at the Villa Celia Subdivision, Barangay Taculing in Bacolod City, Friday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Thomas Schulenburg, a resident of the said address since January of this year.
In a report by Bombo Radyo-Bacolod, the owner of the rented house went to Police Station 6 (PS6) after Schulenburg failed to respond when they called for the victim.
The station immediately dispatched several officers to investigate and, upon arrival, found the main gate was still chained.
Cops managed to pry open the locked chains and discovered Schulenburg’s remains, which were already in a state of decomposition.
Police stated the victim may have been dead for almost a week and have since sought the help of scene of the crime operatives (SOCO) in order to scour the area for evidence.
Authorities ruled out robbery as the victim’s personal belongings, which included documents, gadgets, and cash amounting to P2,520, were still present inside the house.
Cops are trying to reach out to Schulenburg’s family in Germany while carrying out a follow-up investigation to determine his cause of death./DGB, WDJ
