According to data from Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6), 35,732 criminal incidents were recorded throughout the region between January and September 30, 2017, a drop from the 41,398 recorded during the same period last year, resulting in a 13.66 percent decline.

They noted, the highest number of incidents were recorded in Negros Occidental, at 8,027; while Iloilo City came in second with 7,855 incidents reported.

Meanwhile, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has been reporting a gradual drop in their crime rate for the past few weeks, with the latest figures showing a 66 percent drop between October 16 and 22, 2017 as compared to the same period last year./WDJ
