The Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement-Negros (PRRM-Negros) office recently turned over a marine patrol boat and disaster risk reduction emergency kits to fisherfolk and farmers in Barangay Chambery, Manapla.

The items, including six radio handsets, were turned over to the leaders of the Chambery Multisectoral People’s Alliance (ChaMPA).

PRRM-Negros area manager Edwin Balajadia said the turnover marked a significant milestone, as it will strengthen the campaign against illegal fishing and foster climate and disaster risk reduction work.

Also present at the event were Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante, former Mayor Manolet Escalante, Municipal Agriculturist Allan Malijoc, Barangay Chambery Captain Ronnie Salo, among others./WDJ
