The University of St. La Salle (USLS) advanced to the finals of the men’s football competition in the ongoing 2017 University Games (UniGames) in Dumaguete City after beating De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, 2-1, at the Gov. Mariano Perdices Memorial Stadium.

Both USLS goals came in extended time, with Regie Cisneros scoring in the 76th minute and Harunori Aoki converting a penalty kick in the 110th minute.

The Bacolod City school faces National University in the finals.

Basketball

STI-West Negros University lost 90-86 to Rizal Technological University (RTU) in the men’s basketball competition.

Meanwhile, RTU also notched a win in the ladies’ contest, destroying Silliman University, 93-17./JSG, WDJ
