An additional 200 firemen were deployed throughout the Western Visayas, 94 of which were dispatched across Negros Occidental.
Fire Senior Superintendent Jorge Fariñas, regional director for the Western Visayas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), said they are looking to equip all local government units in the province with their own fire station and fire truck.
The 94 were deployed recently, following training.
Isabela and Pulupandan are currently the only municipalities in the province without a fire station.
Fire Superintendent Rodolfo Denaga, Bacolod City fire marshal, said he has 78 firefighters and six fire trucks to address fire incidents in Bacolod City.
Denaga said they will establish fire brigade volunteers in barangays to assist them during fire incidents./DGB, WDJ
