Information technology students of the Western Institute of Technology (WIT) recently unveiled a mobile application where individuals can find accredited boarding houses within Iloilo City.

Introduced at the Kahublagan sa Barangay para sa Lapnagon nga Kahandaan sa Kalamidad (Kabalaka) tech meeting at Iloilo City Hall last Month, they said the app offers a list of boarding houses with government-issued permits and certifications for safety and security.

“The application will showcase the amenities, costs and reviews, thus eliminating long processes of searching one’s desired place to rent, and unnecessary on-site visit for inquiries,” K6 Gabiota, one of the app’s creators, explained.

The app, dubbed the Iloilo City Boarding House Finder, will be turned over to the city’s Boarding House Commission (BHC), with hopes of implementation by December.

Gabiota added, boarding house owners and operators can register their properties and will be listed after passing BHC compliance.

The application will also be available on the web./WDJ
