Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia credited Task Group MassKara Festival 2017, the law enforcement group in charge of security for this year’s MassKara Festival, for handling what he considered the “most challenging” security situation.
“It was the most challenging MassKara insofar as security is concerned,” said the mayor during an event at the Annex Building of the Bacolod City Government Center Monday. “The crowd at the three festival sites – the Bacolod Public Plaza, the Bacolod City Government Center, and the Tourism Strip along Lacson Street – [were] very big.”
However, he also noted, “It was the best security preparation we’ve ever had.”
“What you have done was a coordinated effort, well-orchestrated, and, therefore, it was a big success,” Leonardia added. “It was the best implementation we’ve ever done.”
The mayor went on to award the top performers of the various law enforcement agencies, including the Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
Members of PRO-6 and the BCPO were then invited to take part in a boodle fight.
Also present were Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran; City Councilor Em Ang; City Administrator John Orola; Secretary to the Mayor, Edward Joseph Cuansing; Executive Assistants Jose Ma. Vargas and Ernesto Pineda; Public Information Officer Danny Dangcalan; among others./WDJ
