Philippine Army 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) commander, Major General Jon Aying, recently met with the Iloilo United Muslim Community, Inc., where he called for cooperation from the local Muslim community.

The 3ID commander believes it will aid in preventing terror incidents in the region.

Back in June, three suspected members of the Islamic State-backed Maute group were arrested at the Iloilo City port.

Farida Pangompig Romato, Aljadid ‘Hadid’ Pangompig Romato, and Abdulrahman Serad Dimakatuh were later indicted before the Misamis Oriental Regional Trial Court.

During his speech at the close of the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City over the weekend, President Rodrigo Duterte warned “the war is not yet over,” noting terrorism is everywhere./WDJ
