Iloilo City underwent an evaluation yesterday for the 2017 Excellence in Local Governance (Excell) Awards, a recognition designated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government Region VI (DILG-6), scheduled to be given out in December.

The city previously picked up the Best Performing award at the 2016 ceremony.

“We are doing our job and best in all aspects of governance, in administrative, social, economic and environmental,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III. “We aim to serve the people the best we can offer and give.”

Now on its 10th year, EXCELL has recognized the best managed local governments (LGUs) in the region that demonstrate the best practices, achievements and innovations in governance, administration, social services, economic development, environmental management, and local legislation./WDJ
