Ceres-Negros FC defeated Stallion Laguna FC, 1-0, in the ongoing 2017 Philippines Football League (PFL) over the weekend at the Biñan Football Stadium.

The win made it three straight PFL wins this season against the Laguna-based club, thanks to a 28th minute free kick by Ceres midfielder Bienvenido Marañón.

Ceres remains in third place on the PFL table, still two points behind second place Kaya FC-Makati and six points behind league leaders FC Meralco Manila.

The Negrense club also currently has several games in hand over the top two clubs.

Ceres and Stallion are scheduled to meet again on Wednesday, October 25./JSG, WDJ
