A total of 50 fisherfolk who underwent training at the Iloilo Fishing Port Complex at Tanza Baybay in the City Proper district of Iloilo City were recently provided with disaster-resilient fishing boats.
According to City Agriculturist Romulo Pangantihon, the trainings, which were conducted in three batches between September 4 and October 13, were intended to uplift the socioeconomic status of participants.
The trainings offered guidance on proper handling techniques in order to maintain quality of fish and increase the value of the harvest.
The program was conducted by the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Region VI./WDJ
