Based on data gathered between October 9 and 15, the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) recorded a total 61 reported criminal incidents, a drop from the 99 reported during the same period last year, which resulted in a 38 percent drop.

“The decrease in criminal incidents was due to weekly assessments of enhanced managing patrol operations, wherein we monitor the peculiarity of incidents per station,” said ICPO operations chief, Police Superintendent Jowel Saliba.

Earlier this month, ICPO reported, between September 25 and October 1, there was a 32 percent drop in crime. More recently, between October 2 and 9, the city police office reported an almost 40 percent drop in crime as compared to a similar period last year./PLL, WDJ
