Officials from Quanzhou, China recently met with Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III, where they discussed potential investment opportunities in Iloilo City, along with the possibility of formulating a “sister city” agreement.

The delegation, led by the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Vice Chairman Chen Mingfu, remarked positively on the city’s position with regard to the environment, along with the business permit licensing system.

The mayor invited the group back in January 2018 to experience the annual Dinagyang Festival.

Quanzhou dates back to the year 960, during the Song dynasty, and sits along the Taiwan Strait. It is the largest city in the Fujian province./PLL, WDJ
