After earning their first Philippines Football League (PFL) win last weekend, a Harrison Sawyer hat trick led Davao Aguilas FC to their second win in a row, beating Ilocos United FC, 4-2, in their return leg at the Quirino Stadium in Bantay, Ilocos Sur, last Wednesday.
Striker Harrison Sawyer, who scored the first goal in their earlier rout of Ilocos, struck first in the eighth minute.
Around halftime, an exchange of goals, a second for Sawyer and one from Ilocos forward Chima Uzoka in stoppage time, gave the Davaoeño side a 2-1 advantage.
The Aguilas forward sealed his hat trick in the 57th minute.
Shortly after, Ilocos midfielder Charlie Beaton got it back to a one-point match, scoring a goal in the 61th minute.
However, Davao Aguilas were awarded a penalty close to the end of regular time, which was successfully converted by striker Phil Younghusband.
“Today we have a team,” said Aguilas coach Marlon Maro.
The win keeps the Davaoeño club in second to last place on 14 points, seven points ahead of Ilocos United.
Their next match is scheduled for Sunday, October 22, where they will meet JPV Marikina FC at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila./PLL, WDJ
